Thanks to the fine staff at Schipul Web Design Company, I have become completely involved with podcasting and RSS feeds. At a later date I will go into more detail about the RSS feeds (which by the way stand for Really Simple Syndication). For now, podcasting is a great way for me to communicate and educate my patients, and allow them to have a more efficient experience with me and my staff. Information is KING. Patients and their families are consumers of health care services, and if the proper expectations are not met, they may be off looking elsewhere. Podcasts, which are audio files you listen to through your computer, allows me to put into simple everyday language the very information shared during an office visit, and at times, more details that time would not allow. Disease information, instructions, side effect management, and the latest news from the world of health and wellness, can now be communicated to the masses through podcasting. The question is, how does everyone tap into this technology?
There are a few ways to download the individual podcasts offered on our web site, texasliver.com. On the site, I have a page that outlines this is pretty simple language, and I would recommend looking at it and printing it out for reference. The key is to download iTunes from the Apple Computer site. It is a free program. You may already have it on your computer if you own an iPod.
One shortcut is to subscribe to all of the podcast feeds from texasliver.com by subscribng to the podcast feeds directly from iTunes. Once you open iTunes, under the podcast directory, search for "Liver Specialists of Texas" and the option to subscribe will be present. Once you subscribe this way or through the RSS feeds, your computer will automatically seek out new podcasts that we post.
You may have to read through this a few times. It all makes sense after a while.
Your feedback is needed, telling me what topics you want to listed to. Feel free to e-mail me through the web site. Enjoy the podcasts.
